McCarthy Stone seeks a compassionate Relief Care Supervisor to support our Rutherford House team in Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire. Help residents enjoy life in a vibrant, secure, and caring community where they’re empowered to live independently.


Position Overview

  • Pay: £15.93 per hour for day shifts, £13.03 for sleeping night shifts, plus an extra £1 per hour on weekends.
  • Hours: Flexible day, evening, and weekend shifts, coordinated with Estate and Operations Managers.

As a Relief Care Supervisor, you’ll be an integral part of the community, offering essential support, overseeing safety and wellbeing, coordinating engaging activities, and fostering a warm environment. You’ll ensure emergency assistance is available during night shifts, providing peace of mind for residents.

We’re looking for a dedicated individual with senior care experience and a minimum Level 2 Health and Social Care qualification (or equivalent). Job Description

McCarthy Stone are recruiting for a professional Relief Care Supervisor to join the team at our prestigious Corbett Court development based in Burgess Hill, West Sussex.

Built in 2013, Corbett Court is a Retirement Living Plus development that consists of 56 apartments with the over 70’s in mind, providing excellent on-site facilities and set within beautiful grounds. This is not traditional care, this is better!


Hourly rate:
£12.24 per hour day rate and £14.51 per hour SLEEPING night rate plus additional pay (see below)


Hours:
To cover shifts on an ‘as and when’ basis when required, to be discussed with the development Manager.

Our day shifts vary between 08:45 and 16:30 or between 16:15 to 09:30.

Our night shifts are from 21:30 to 09:00am

Our Relief Care Supervisors between 23:00pm and 07:00am providing emergency support only to our homeowners throughout that period.

About you:

  • You will live within easy commuting distance of our estate.
  • You will be a warm, friendly, organised, and self-motivated individual with experience of working in a care or support environment and excellent care skills.
  • You will want to work in the Health and Social care sector and preferably have a QCF Health and Social Care (Adults) Level 3 qualification although consideration will be given to a candidate with an alternative qualifications and relevant experience.
  • Keen to take on the responsibility of managing the security of the development, looking after the safety and wellbeing of the homeowners, and overseeing the Care and Support teams.
  • Able to co-ordinate and facilitate activities that help strengthen the community spirit within the development.
  • Driven to continue to grow their skills and will want to lead by example and think on their feet.
  • Able to make a difference to the wellbeing and happiness of older people.
