The Role

*Driver trainee (Van, progressing to Cat C License – Class 2)
*Days – Mon to Friday

*Overtime shifts Saturday and Sunday available

Main Purpose of the role

A great opportunity for someone to take their first steps in to the Logistics sector with a (funded) training scheme to upskill and progress your future career.
You must collect and deliver freight to various points within the UK in a timely and safe manner, whilst maintaining a polite and presentable profile to all colleagues and clients.

Maxims will provide (funded) training to upskill to Cat C (Class 2) license, based on a training agreement. Flexibility whilst training is required to support the business, where necessary. The role once qualified will require to nights out at least 2 a week.

The role would ideally suit someone with some delivery experience like van driving or retail delivery.

Key responsibilities:
– Comply with all Health & Safety regulations
– Fully aware and compliant with daily vehicle checks
– Able to carry out occasional handball assignments
– Timely and accurate completion of customer paperwork
– Understanding of pallet control (PCVs)

Knowledge and Experience
– A ‘can do’ attitude with enthusiasm to learn

– Must have passed Medical and have Provisional Cat C entitlement in place

– Passed theory and Hazard perception
– UK Drivers License and Provisional HGV License (application in process)
– Driving efficiently and safely
– Fluency in English language & Clear Communication skills
– Respectful of the Maxim fleet and takes pride in its appearance
– Conscientious and helpful
– Ability to work on own initiative
– Positive and flexible attitude
– Polite and presentable (prepared to be an Ambassador of the company)
– Ability to concentrate in a busy environment
– Able to carry out physical activity as the role demands
– Understanding of written and oral communication
