Our team at are looking to recruit a friendly and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to assist with delivering quality meals to our residents in the care home. This is a perfect opportunity to gain some experience within the kitchen or perhaps the development of a new career in catering. You will be helping to ensure that our residents dietary requirements are met.

Responsibilities of the Kitchen Assistant:
As a Kitchen Assistant; you will be taking an active role in supporting the Chef with the preparation and delivery of meals for residents. As well as preparing fresh ingredients for various meals, you will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and tidy kitchen area that adheres to both Health and Safety regulations and the exemplary standards of the home.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen environment
  • Cleaning all crockery, cutlery and food preparation equipment
  • Assist in preparation of meals for service
  • Prepare food and ingredients for service.

The role

Responsibilities: As a Kitchen Assistant, you will assist our Cooks to maintain a clean environment and support to prepare and serve food. Further responsibilities include:

  • Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen and dining area
  • Maintain accurate records of food supplies, temperatures, and schedules
  • Ensure relevant standards are always met
  • Ensure statutory Health and Safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas

We are looking for an individual who is caring and friendly with good communication skills. It would be beneficial to have previous experience of food preparation and kitchen support duties alongside a food hygiene certificate.

About You;

  • Able to demonstrate an ability to manage pressure, prioritise tasks and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Acting as the link between the main kitchen and our residents
