Job Description
We are looking to recruit a Letterpress Printer to work alongside experienced printing personnel within a multi-disciplined environment
The successful applicant will work in the traditional print workshop, which following training, will involve preparation of letterpress plates for use on Heidelberg print presses, as well as mounting printing plates and setting packing and ink flows.
Duties will include:
– set up of print finishing and the operation of folding, laminating, stitching and drilling machines as well as hand finishing on specialised print work.
– paper handling experience and competent with sheet work
– experience of using a guillotine, proficient in its programming and use
In addition, Samuel Skelly operate an electronic artwork and digital press process working with In Design Creative Suite 6 software to create print ready artwork and full colour digital imagery.
Candidates should have GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths, as well as ICT/computer studies, together with previous experience of working within a print room environment, and a keen interest in both traditional and digital print processes.
We are looking for a hardworking, team player who enjoys new challenges, and a keen eye for detail. Manual dexterity is important in this role together with the ability to operate large press machinery.
