Night Support Workers required.

We are looking for people who are passionate about enjoying life to join the teams who work here at Martha Trust. We are dedicated to ensuring that the special people we care for have every opportunity to live lives as normal and fulfilling as possible, and that they feel safe, supported, and respected

Salary from £12.20 per hour with a 50p per hour incentive for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights – minimum contracted hours 22 per week (two 11 hour night shifts)

Waking nights; 8.30pm – 7.30am

You will also be flexible to come in during the day for the first three weeks for your induction, training, and to meet the wider team – this will be discussed during interviews.

You will be working in a friendly environment where teamwork and individual support are high priorities. You will be responsible to the Nurse in charge for providing and maintaining a homely atmosphere and ensuring that the rights and dignity of our residents are always respected. These are waking nights during which you will be expected to provide person centered care and keep accurate records of the care provided.

You will hold the values we have here at Martha Trust – to support, respect, encourage and show compassion to all those around you.

A full driving license and the ability to drive our minibuses would be an advantage, as is the willingness to support residents in hospital when needed.

About The Home

Welcome to Anam Cara, in stunning grounds located in the quiet hamlet of Friesthorpe, Anam Cara provides a full range of leisure, sporting and recreational activities, and every young person takes part in physical education. As well as our animal husbandry yard and the sports hall on our main site, there is also an outdoor play area and a range of external activities available to the young people we look after. This varies from shopping trips to local towns at the weekends to rock climbing and sailing.

As a Night Practitioner you will be an integral part of the team at Anam Cara, no two days are the same but here is a brief overview of what your day-to-day duties may look like:

  • Supporting with personal care, toileting, bathing, and dressing routines in the evening and throughout the night whilst maintaining dignity and respect at all times
  • Creating and maintaining positive relationships with the people we support
  • Ensuring the physical, emotional, behavioural and cultural needs of the people we support is always at the forefront of what you do, ensuring these needs are recorded accurately and reviewed/changed in line with the needs of the people we support.
  • Maintain a stable, happy and caring environment that puts the health, safety and welfare of the people we support first, this will involve domestic duties

Job Description

Night support worker required for our lovely small care home, experienced beneficial but not essential as all training provided. Full stringent inductions given. Nights are quiet due to residents in bed however some personal care. H&S checks, light housekeeping duties and ensuring safety checks during nightly duties. Our home is for mental health and learning disabilities, none violent home. Start time 10pm finish at 7.30am. Training and induction would have to be carried out over days and nights to ensure through due diligence of role, however day training would be implemented to suit both parties for timeframe, once training and induction complete then move to permanent nights. About the position:

As a Night Support Worker, you will be key in supporting young adults with complex needs. We are looking for a dedicated and ambitious individual who can offer complete commitment to supporting our young adults to fulfil their potential. This is a challenging role with huge rewards.
