Your goal

As an M&A Lead Advisory Director in Marktlink’s Midlands offices you will play a pivotal role in our continued rapid growth as a leading full-service M&A advisory firm.

You will be instrumental in growing Marktlink’s presence in the Midlands market, leveraging your established network and building new relationships across a diverse range of industries. In addition to driving deal origination and execution, you will take a proactive role in leading and mentoring the team, fostering their development, and contributing to the firm’s dynamic and high-performing culture.

Your success in driving deals and further expanding our market footprint will unlock a clear path to promotion to Partner very swiftly when you demonstrate your contribution to growing a successful team. Your responsibilities

In this role, you will drive business growth, manage major deals, and support building a high-performing team for our Midlands offices. Your key responsibilities:


  • Cultivate and expand your professional network:
    Generate new leads, and drive business development activities to secure new clients and deals.

  • Oversee the full transaction
    lifecycle: Managing every stage of the deal process from initial contact through the preparation and execution phases to a successful closing.

  • Grow and lead your own deal team:
    Providing strategic and technical guidance and hands-on support to ensure successful deal execution.

  • Build and maintain prospect and client relationships:
    Acting as the primary point of contact for prospects and clients, fostering and maintaining strong relationships with entrepreneurs and key stakeholders.

  • Develop and implement strategic growth initiatives
    : Proactively driving strategic initiatives which contribute to Marktlink’s ambitious growth strategy in the Midlands and wider UK mid-market.


Your profile

We’re seeking an experienced M&A professional:


  • Experience:
    You bring at least 5 years of M&A Lead Advisory experience, with a proven track record in deal-closing and demonstrable business development success (past and live pipeline).

  • Established Network:
    You have an active network of trusted relationships in the Midlands, with a strong ability to leverage these connections for business growth in our target markets.

  • Commercial Acumen:
    You possess a commercial mindset and a genuine passion for working alongside entrepreneurs to achieve their goals.

  • Quality Orientated:
    You demonstrate strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all workstreams, while upholding high standards of precision and quality throughout the deal process to deliver exceptional outcomes.

  • Exceptional communication skills
    : Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities, enabling you to build, nurture, and maintain valuable client and stakeholder relationships.
