Location: Stratford, London
Employment Status: Full Time Employment
Salary: £ 36,000
Reporting To: Deputy Procurement Manager
Work Structure: on site, 5 days a week.
Main Purpose of the Position:
The Food and Beverage Manager will oversee all aspects of the food and beverage operations, ensuring the provision of high-quality meals that meet the dietary and cultural needs of our residents. This role requires strong leadership, excellent organisational skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the food and beverage department, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
- Coordinate with internal and external caterers to ensure timely and accurate meal provision.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for food and beverage services.
- Collaborate with caterers to design menus that meet the nutritional, dietary, and cultural needs of residents.
- Ensure the quality, taste, and presentation of all food and beverages served.
- Conduct regular inspections and taste tests to maintain high standards.
- Recruit, train, and supervise food and beverage staff, including chefs, kitchen assistants, and serving staff.
- Schedule and manage staff shifts to ensure adequate coverage.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Manage the food and beverage budget, controlling costs and maximizing efficiency.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering, storage, and waste reduction.
- Maintain accurate records of expenses, inventory, and revenues.
- Ensure exceptional customer service, addressing any complaints or concerns promptly and effectively.
- Gather feedback from residents to continually improve food and beverage offerings.
- Organize and facilitate special dietary requests and meal accommodations.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Implement and monitor food safety practices and HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) standards.
- Conduct regular training sessions on food safety and hygiene for staff.
- Liaise with external caterers, suppliers, and community organizations to enhance food service operations.
- Represent the hotel in community meetings and forums related to food and nutrition.

Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in food and beverage management, preferably in a hotel or institutional setting.
- Computer literate with knowledge of all Microsoft Office products
Skills:
- Proficiency in budgeting and financial management.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and standards.
