Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Senior Business Development Manager on behalf of our client based in Witham, Essex, on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the global freight operations. The role requires a dynamic leader with proven experience in sales, business development and operations within the Logistics/Freight industry. Travel both within the UK and Europe may be required.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Building on the company’s foundation of freight relationships to drive strategic growth
  • Developing strong customer relationships
  • Identifying new business opportunities and fostering strong relationships with key clients and partners
  • Overseeing daily freight operations, ensuring compliance with international regulations and optimising processes for cost efficiency
  • Developing and managing the freight budget
  • Conducting market research and analysis to stay ahead of industry
  • Negotiating with clients & hauliers
  • Conducting regular on site visits and meetings with customers and suppliers
  • Driving sales & profitability with both new and existing clients

Experience, Education & Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge in the freight/shipping/logistics industry
  • Proven track record in sales, business development and operations
  • Proven experience in growing a business or business unit with measurable success
  • Ideally knowledge of the commodities sector
  • Strong understanding of financial management reporting
  • Growth orientated mindset
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/Logistics/Supply chain management or related field (desirable not essential)

Senior Business Development Manager – IT Hardware/AV

Location: Remote//Field Based

Salary: Competitive Package including OTE and Car Allowance

My client who are based near Bracknell are seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to join their team. This is a field based role and the main responsibilities are to proactively maximise profitable sales growth, by acquiring new business and maintaining current business to increase my clients market share and revenue opportunities at every possible touchpoint. You will need excellent in-depth knowledge of selling IT/hardware equipment including AV sales.

Responsibilities

Exceed personal and team sales targets within new, existing and lapsed top revenue generating, Large End User Accounts.

Maintain regular visits with key channel partners related to your sales area with the aim of qualified lead generation.

Proactively manage a pipeline of qualified leads from various sources, understanding requirements to enable a targeted proposal that will lead to the point of purchase order

Maintain an accurate sales pipeline. Provide data led, objective and accurate forecasting.

Maximise the contract value of all sales engagements, using the company product pricing policy

Ensuring the CRM system is always updated with all supporting information and quotations and provide a personal 3-month rolling forecast each week to the Sales Manager.

Provide longer term, team wide pipeline forecast monthly to Sales Manager

Prepare, arrange and carry out high quality on brand presentations to new and existing customers

Arrange and carry out product demonstrations, training and attendance or managing exhibitions or events as required.

Compile and present whole sales team plan at quarterly reviews with Senior Management

Support own sales team as required to ensure the whole team target is achieved.

Collaborate with the wider Business Support and Customer Service teams, bridging the gap between customer, delivery and service, ensuring that the delivery team have the information required for timely deliveries.

Working with Sales Development Team and by using your own insight and knowledge to build up a list of targeted prospective customers via industry news, LinkedIn and other networking / lead generating opportunities

Achieve assigned KPIs such as customer meetings, call/email targets, pitches and price proposals .

Contribute and collaborate on ideas, opportunities, market strategy and blockers as part of the sales & marketing team and the wider group.

Working proactively with the sales team to exceed team and group sales targets along with your own.

Keep up to date, accurate records of your activity so we can track activity against revenue performance

Report any feedback from customers which may help guide the company’s business strategy

To performance always in line with the Company’s competencies/values, policies and procedures.

To undertake any other duties reasonable to the job level as deemed appropriate by the Company

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

A proven in-depth demonstratable track record of success within a new business development role in IT/hardware with experience of working as part of an AV business.

Substantial experienced in selling into one of the Company’s defined verticals.

Demonstrates a natural product mindset, offering value-add customer solutions.

Commercially minded, able to articulate and present solutions that demonstrate a clear value.

Demonstrates a customer first approach and is proactive and professional in resolving any challenge that they are faced with.

Logical, organised and flexible when needed, excellent at multi-tasking, able to plan and structure their day to achieve sales targets/objectives/KPIs/customer requirements.

Skilled confident presenter, able to adapt approach to suit a wide-ranging customer audience.

Proactive with a positive attitude and a strong team player

Strong negotiation skills, responsive and creative in delivery.

Can negotiate and influence at all levels and builds credible external networks

Works well under pressure, able to make good judgements, decisions and meet conflicting deadlines

Self-aware with the ability to actively listen, adjust and ask relevant questions

Keeps on top of industry developments and trends and shares knowledge with wider teams

High attention to detail and level of accuracy.

Hands on experience with CRM software (MS Dynamics currently in use)

Must hold a clean valid driving license

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Business Development Manager to join our client a Fintech company who are a payment provider platform. The role is UK based but offers a flexible/remote setup and allows you the freedom to identify prospective customers and partners across the UK and Europe, from start up to enterprise.

This role is centered around new business, with a particular focus on profitability from self-generated relationships. The successful applicant will be able to learn about core + value added proposition, applying their solutions to solve customer challenges.

Proven historic sales success is desired, and we would welcome applicants that have experience in successfully engaging with prospects in primary vertical industries, especially Digital Ecommerce, Travel, Hospitality or Financial Services.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Seek new prospective merchants and introducers proactively, promoting the benefits of the clients range of products and services
  • Identify key challenges for merchants and partners, then solve these problems by applying the correct range of products and services, while sustaining profitable terms
  • Negotiate commercial and contractual terms with full support available from Senior Managers.
  • Manage the aftercare of your newly onboarded customers, until ready to be migrated to a dedicated Account Manager
  • Maintain your introducer relationships by building trust and growing their portfolio of introduced merchants
  • Represent the business at trade events as and when required
  • Meeting with prospect clients and partners in person to help maximise the quality of conversation, so to build effective and trustworthy relationships


Experience and Qualifications:
