Job Description

About Us

We value our staff greatly and are proud of the collaborative way in which they work. As a relatively young firm formed in 2014, we are blessed with an ambitious and forward-thinking senior management team that are building a sustainable well managed profitable business that has expanded year on year since first being established.
Role
As a Litigation Handler, you will be responsible for proactively managing a portfolio of cases suitable for litigation through to settlement, working on behalf of insurance companies handling those claims.
What will your working week be like?
As a Litigation Handler you will be responsible for managing and progressing your portfolio of small track RTA claims proactively and correctly whilst keeping relevant parties updated. You will run the cases from pre-litigation through to settlement by obtaining relevant evidence to support liability and quantum. You will ensure that you review and reply to all correspondence and emails within our service level agreements, ensuring you keep the clients regularly updated. If the claim is not capable of settlement pre issue, you will be required to draft and issue legal proceedings, prepare evidence for hearings and witness statements, instruct Barristers/Counsel to attend hearings, whilst complying with all court directions and deadlines. This will be achieved by training and working a task list effectively. Once the matter has settled you will allocate settlement funds accordingly.
You will be expected to undertake appropriate training and development in relation to the role and to carry out ad hoc duties of a reasonable nature which may be requested from time to time.
Who will this role suit?
The ideal candidate will be someone that is highly motived and who enjoys a challenge, who knows how important it is to deliver exceptional customer service, communicating well by telephone and in writing. They will be happy to communicate with clients, insurers, brokers, the Court, Solicitors and Barristers. They will be a quick learner, someone who likes to take ownership but is also able to thrive in a team while ensuring quality output, with a great eye for detail. They will be able to work calmly under pressure in an organised and efficient manner using our case management system and ensuring they are running an effective diary system.
It would be an advantage if you have knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules relating to RTA/Motor Insurance Claims, however full training will be provided.
