Senior Transport Planner

Job Description

Due to newly awarded contracts and continued business growth, we are looking to recruit experienced Transport Planners at our Headquarters in Portadown across a variety of shift patterns.

This is an exciting opportunity for a career-minded and ambitious individual to join our team working in one of the UK’s Leading Transport and Logistics companies.

Reporting to the Departmental Manager, the Senior Transport Planner will take a leading role in managing logistics operations across GB/NI & ROI. With a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a high-volume role, you will ensure the efficient and cost-effective delivery of goods, uphold service excellence, and manage key elements of transportation planning and performance.

Key Duties

· Plan and schedule delivery routes to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.

· Liaise with drivers and customers to maintain smooth communication and address any issues promptly.

· Manage logistics operations using Transport Management Systems.

· Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and safety standards in all transport activities.

· Manage documentation for international shipments and ensure accuracy in all records.

· Collaborate with the Maintenance Team to ensure vehicles meet service intervals and address defects.

· Prepare performance reports on transport metrics for management review.

· Analyse transportation data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.

Essential Skills & Experience

· Proven experience in logistics planning or supply chain management.

· Strong IT skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Exceptional people and task organisational skills and attention to detail.

· A customer service-oriented mindset with the ability to resolve issues promptly and professionally.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to £45,000.00 per year
