- Excellent skills in terms of classroom practice
- Numeracy/literacy skills (at a level equivalent to NQF Level 2)
- Have high expectations of children’s learning and behaviour
- Commitment and enthusiasm
- Experience of working with or caring for children of a relevant age
- An effective team member
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent literacy and numeracy skills are essential
- Is able to demonstrate good use of IT to support learning
