SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:

  • Graduate Engineer – Heavy Lifting and Transport Operations

  • Commencing September 2025

  • Starting salary of £30,870 per year and industry leading development plan

  • Working on site at the Mammoet office in Thornaby, Teesside

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Supporting the development of engineering solutions for heavy lifting and transportation projects
  • Working with both conventional methodologies and developing new approaches
  • Creating drawings, calculations, manuals, risk assessments and other key documents using various software packages like: AutoCAD, and in-house developed software
  • Ensuring efficient execution that delivers the right results for the customer
  • Developing your engineering understand and expertise with the Mammoet equipment and its application

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or a similar engineering discipline
  • Computer skills including CAD and Microsoft Office
  • English, fluent proficiency verbal and written and UK right to work without restriction
  • Driving license preferred but not essential

Our engineers are critical to this and have the opportunity to apply their experience and skills to a wide variety of different industries, locations and projects. As part of this role you will conduct your initial training period at the Mammoet offices in Thornaby, Teesside before moving to work permanently at our Hixon location.

Job Description

Graduate Mechanical Engineer

Our client a leading engineer company who specialise in a range of different products across multiple industries are seeking to a recruit a Graduate Engineer due to continued acquisitions of new projects. The successful candidate will be a key member of the project delivery team supporting the delivery of a range of projects.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist the team in ensuring project deliverables are met through planning and organisation
  • Assist in the coordination of documentation and/or drawings between various parties (Client/Supplier)
  • Assist in the review of engineering drawings and 3D models
  • Assist with quality checks on materials and factory checks on assembled products
  • Assist with the planning and coordination of onsite installations
  • Develop operation & maintenance manuals and other relevant engineering documents
  • Support the project team throughout the whole project life cycle ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental standards
  • Communicate in a clear and professional manner with clients and suppliers.

Essential Criteria

  • A degree in mechanical engineering or similar subject
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
  • Pay close attention to detail to all tasks undertaken.
  • Possesses a can-do attitude.
  • Full UK driving license with access to own car
  • Ability to travel, plan, manage and prioritise own workload.
