Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to our residents. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in our care home. Your leadership and communication skills will be essential in supervising staff and ensuring that care plans are effectively implemented. This position requires a proactive approach to senior care, with an emphasis on maintaining the dignity and respect of all residents.

Duties

  • Supervise and support care staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualised care plans tailored to each resident’s needs.
  • Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, and mobility support while promoting independence.
  • Maintain accurate records of resident care and progress.
  • Adhere to the correct administration of medication procedures.
  • Monitor the health and wellbeing of residents, reporting any changes or concerns.
  • Engage residents in social activities that promote mental and emotional wellbeing.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the care home environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in senior care or a similar role is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge and understanding of completing and maintaining care plans.
  • Relevant qualifications in health and social care would be beneficial.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £13.00-£14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 per week
