About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Support Officer to work within our young adults’s emergency accommodation based in Wallasey on a permanent basis. The role is based in a residential property which is easily accessible from most transport links with just a short walk from local bus routes.
The candidate must be available to cover proposed shifts between the hours of 07:30–15:30 (days), 15:00-22:30 (late) and 22:30–07:30 (nights). You will work as part of a team providing 24/7 cover across a five-week shift pattern supporting young people who present to local authority requiring emergency accommodation. You must be flexible, adaptable and approachable and be comfortable working on a one to one basis with vulnerable young adults aged 18-24. The role is predominantly lone working and requires an individual with excellent communication skills and will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
We are looking for someone with a positive and enthusiastic personality with a strong focus on communication and customer service and who has some experience in delivering a front-line customer service in a challenging environment. Excellent attention to detail, the ability to organise and prioritise work plus the desire to deliver a high-quality standard of work is essential. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written will also be required. Previous experience of working with young people would be an advantage but is not essential as training will be provided.
The Role
Manor Road is a short term supported housing project offering emergency accommodation for 6 young adults aged between 18-24 years old. You will offer them the opportunity to make progress in their lives, to build resilience & meet their aspirations. As a Support Officer, you will play a key role in supporting residents to maintain their tenancies, identify and achieve their goals, develop independent living skills and move on successfully. Our Support Officer needs to be disciplined, flexible, enthusiastic, caring, calm and wise. You must have the ability to relate well to young and vulnerable people from a wide variety of backgrounds, an understanding of their needs and the ability to deliver services with empathy and understanding.
