Job Description

Mackie’s of Scotland produces the nation’s favourite ice cream and chocolate from the family farm in Aberdeenshire. We remain fully committed to our environmental agenda and are proud to produce twice as much energy as we consume.

Due to continued growth of the business, we are recruiting a Team Leader role in our ice cream production and on-site packaging manufacturing area.

The Team Leader is responsible for effectively managing the High Care production area driving the highest standards of food and health safety. Manage time, delegate and organise the team ensuring all requirements of the position are met as well as actively encourage the introduction of continuous improvement techniques.

Duties include:

  • Lead daily communication huddles with team including H&S, Quality, Cost, People & Service and encourage full participation of the team
  • Motivate, organise and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded
  • Ensure all production documentation is adhered to and completed properly and in full. Promote a constant state of audit readiness through best practice GMP and clean as you go policy. Participate in GMP audits
  • Assist Supervisor with regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Participate and encourage staff involvement in reducing customer complaints
  • Promote a right first-time mentality to minimise quarantines
  • Actively work towards reduction of waste

Previous food manufacturing and supervisory experience is required. This work involves varying amounts of lifting and manual handling, therefore a good level of physical fitness is required.

Own transport is essential due to our countryside location (AB51 8US).

Various shift patterns available over 40 hours per week. These positions are offered on a permanent basis.
