About us:
Macdonald Burlington Hotel in the centre of Birmingham is found amid the stunning architecture of the city’s beautiful New Street – the hotel being the closest four* hotel to Grand Central & Birmingham New Street train station with just a stone’s throw away. A charming and historic Birmingham venue, Burlington is steeped in history. Formerly known as the famous Midland Hotel, the hotel was the city’s first railway hotel.
About the role:
This role is focused on sales, conference, events, and weddings where you will organize meetings and events and ensure ultimate guest satisfaction and maximize revenues at all opportunities with upgrades, upsells and re-books. You will have excellent communication and organization skills, a true passion for event and hospitality with a keen eye for detail.
Job description:
- Working with the Sales Office Manager ensure all customer enquiries are fully serviced, including show rounds, functions sheets, contracts, and billing.
- Produce BEO (function sheets)
- Use of Opera for data entry completing weekly achieving monthly audit targets
- Support SOM/DOS at all local wedding, Christmas, seasonal and private event expos, and outreach activities
- Support the maximization of revenue and profit for the hotel through increased conversion of the right M&E business, maximizing meeting room occupancy, rate opportunities
- To promote positive working relationships and to ensure that they are maintained with colleagues throughout the hotel
- Ensure that all correspondence with external parties, guests, companies, or agencies meet the hotel’s standards and are dealt with in a timely manner.
- To have a proactive approach to upselling and upgrading conference, events, and wedding bookings
Salary:
- £27000 / year – full time permanent contract

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £27,000.00 per year
