Job Description

Macari’s Gelateria is a new addition to Heaton Mersey high street. We are a small fledging coffee shop and gelateria that opened in September 2023. Within this short time we have grown from strength to strength serving uncomprimised high quality Italian coffee and gelato promises to be a cool place to work and to enjoy!

We pride ourselves on serving the best authentic gelato in Manchester- hand crafted on site in small artisan batches with the perfect coffee.

We need a talented, lively, savvy experienced barista to work on our premium coffee machine turning out top notch coffee to compliment our gelato.

Shifts are typically 8hrs long the successful candidate must commit to working at least one day at the weekend and a few weekday shifts.

REQUIREMENTS

You must be able to work at least one mid week shift and one weekend shift

– Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, espresso, tea, and smoothies
– Take customer orders and process payments using cash handling and cashiering skills
– Maintain a clean and organized work area, including restocking supplies as needed
– Follow health and safety guidelines for food handling and preparation
– Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and ensuring their satisfaction
– Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations and timely service

-Have a love for gelato and all things Italian 🙂

Experience:

– Previous experience in the food industry or customer service preferred
– Knowledge of basic math skills for cash handling and order processing
– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
– Strong communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively
– Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays

Title: Barista

Job Summary:

At Maravi our baristas are responsible for providing a wide range of high-quality coffees and loose-leaf teas through Christchurch, Bournemouth & Westbourne. They should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, have excellent communication skills, and be knowledgeable about our speciality coffee and tea brewing techniques. We are looking for a high-energy, invested barista to join the team at our roastary.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to produce high quality latte art and milk texture, working comfortably with both dairy and alternative milks.
  • Dialling in espresso to ensure grinder and coffee machine are calibrated at the start of the day.
  • Monitoring correct espresso extraction and grammage consistently for each drink
  • Confident interacting with customers and operating the till, providing excellent customer service and creating memorable experiences.
  • Ability to make recommendations and provide information about menu items and retail products.
  • Maintaining a clean and organised store, ensuring the floor and service areas are reset consistently.
  • Ensuring service is seamless and up to Maravi standards, staying co-ordinated and aligned within the team throughout the shift.
  • Ability to function under pressure, and ensure product remains perfect even in busy periods.
  • Opening and closing the store following strict procedures to ensure routine is carried out correctly.
  • Completing routine stock takes, managing and reporting stock to ensure your store is equipped.
