New Building Interior and Accommodation Manager
Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Architect \/Engineer to join our growing Newbuilding technical department. Reporting to the Vice President – President’s office, Construction, Maintenance & Guarantee, you will be responsible for all technical aspects related to the interior and outfitting of our new Cruise ships. In this role, you will be required to have a strong understanding of architectural and engineering principles, the ability to manage complex projects and have excellent attention to detail.
- Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field
- Professional working experience in interior design\/outfitting for marine vessels (Cruise Ships Preferred)
- Experience with advanced materials and technologies in marine construction (preferred)
- Proficiency in CAD software and other design tools
- Familiarity with environmental and sustainability considerations in interior design (preferred)
- Competent knowledge of industry standards and regulations
- Experience with project management software and tools (preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Fluent spoken and written English
- Oversees the design and development of interior spaces and outfitting for cruise ships (new buildings, conversions and refurbishments), providing technical evaluations and proposals to enhance the durability and maintainability of various hotel areas
- Creates detailed plans, drawings, and specifications for interior layouts, fixtures and fittings
- Ensures all designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols
- Collaborates with designers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success
- Conducts feasibility studies and risk assessments for interior and outfitting projects
- Provides technical support and troubleshooting during the construction and outfitting phases
- Follows and stays up to date with the latest advancements in interior design, materials and marine engineering
- Manages multiple projects simultaneously ensuring they are completed on time and within budget
