HGV Class 1 Driver (HIAB – Brick grab)

Job Description

We are recruiting for a Class 1 Driver (C+E) on a Temp to Perm Basis, the role entails delivering to sites across the country and Locally from our base in Brandon, HIAB brick Grab is essential. Our client runs with good quality equipment for the purpose of the tasks at hand.

Averaging 12 hour days with occasional nights out.

We offer £18.00 p/h whilst the temp to perm is running. Once you have moved over to the client the rates are as below.

Location: Brandon

Hours: Monday – Friday

Away overnight as and when required

Salary: £15.10 an hour for 40 hours and 1 ½ over 40 hours

• Ensure the vehicle is safely loaded and secure to minimise chances of damage to the blocks.
• Ensure the load is correct against the customers’ orders.
• When delivering to sites be on time, and safe, whilst working with customers to deliver the blocks where required.
• Check goods off with Customers and obtain signature using our electronic delivery system.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Work with the site to resolve an issue on site effectively and contact the Brandon Office if assistance if needed.
• Drive the vehicle safely and in accordance with the law.
• Drive within the tachograph law and driver hours limits.
• Complete daily inspection of the vehicle using our electronic system and ensure that it is not subjected to unnecessary damage.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the driving cab.
• Report any accidents as soon as possible and in compliance with the company’s accident reporting procedure.
• Take part essential training in order to carry out the driver role.
• To provide support in the Yard as required.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, to include the Company Standards of Performance and Health and Safety Policy.

Requirements

• Class C+E licence Required.
• CPC Holder Required.
• Allmi License an advantage.
• FORS Training desirable

Driver Needs:

• Full UK Driving Licence & 12 Months Minimum experience
• Drivers Digi Card
• Drivers CPC
• Max 6 points (we do not accept IN10, DD, CD, DR or DG conviction codes)
• Reliable, and prepared to strap loads.
• Not scared of the Dark.
• Looking for Long Term and on-going work.
