Millfield School is seeking an exceptional Health and Safety Advisor to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and drive health, safety, and welfare standards across our thriving educational community.
As a Health and Safety Advisor, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the well-being of staff, students, and visitors across both our Prep and Senior Schools. You will provide expert advice and support across diverse teaching and non-teaching departments, fostering a proactive safety culture that allows our vibrant school community to flourish.
Your day-to-day will be varied and rewarding. From developing robust health, safety, and environmental policies, to coaching staff in risk assessment and safe working practices, you’ll be at the heart of maintaining and enhancing our safety standards. You’ll also oversee statutory inspections, interpret new legislation to implement innovative and practical solutions, and lead audits that inform key decisions.
To succeed in this position, candidates must hold a minimum NEBOSH General Certificate or an equivalent qualification, with an environmental management qualification considered an added advantage. The ideal candidate will be a natural leader with excellent communication and organisational skills and a proactive, people-focused approach. They will be passionate about continuous improvement and driven to challenge the status quo in pursuit of Millfield’s ambitious goals.
Whilst an understanding of the independent schools would be advantageous, applicants are welcomed from all sectors of industry.
This is a year-round role working 39 hours per week Monday to Friday.
