JOB LOCATION: Oban

We are seeking a friendly and professional Hotel Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for guests, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a smooth check-in and check-out process. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for hospitality.

Duties

  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with the check-in process.
  • Handle guest inquiries and provide information about hotel services, local attractions, and amenities.
  • Manage phone calls with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
  • Process reservations and cancellations accurately using the hotel management system.
  • Maintain an organised reception area, ensuring it is tidy and welcoming at all times.
  • Assist guests with their requests during their stay, including room changes or special needs.
  • Collaborate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Prepare daily reports on occupancy rates and other relevant metrics as required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in hospitality or guest services is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems for reservations and check-ins.
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities are an advantage, enhancing communication with diverse guests.

  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.

The Manor House Country Hotel is a four-star 80-bedroom hotel situated on the banks of Lough Erne in Co. Fermanagh. A family run business for over 30 years, we pride ourselves on delivering an exceptional experience to the valued customers who choose to make special memories at the hotel.

We are looking for a Hotel Receptionist to cover maternity leave, there is a possibility of extending this based on performance, to ensure that the Front of House runs effectively on a continuous basis and that the 4* standards are constantly met. Applicants must be flexible to work a variety of shifts across the 7 day week and have excellent English and be IT literate.

Essential Criteria:

5 GCSEs at C or above, to include Maths and English, Personable Attitude, Enthusiastic and Organised Person, ability to multitask, Flexible approach to work, Excellent communication skills, Good standard of literacy and computer skills

Desirable Criteria:

Previous Hotel/Reception Experience, although training will be given, Experience in customer facing role
