Job Description

We are looking for a talented Freelance Fashion Designer to help develop new activewear and gymwear collections for our brand. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for style, a strong understanding of fabric selection, and a passion for creating designs that elevate the activewear market. You will work closely with our creative team to deliver fresh, modern designs while considering both aesthetics and functionality.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop original design concepts for men’s activewear and gymwear, including clothing for various workout activities (e.g., running, yoga, weight training, etc.).
Create detailed sketches and technical drawings of designs, including colorways, fabric choices, and garment construction.
Provide suggestions for color palettes that align with current fashion trends and our brand’s vision.
Select appropriate materials and fabrics, ensuring they meet performance and sustainability standards.
Ensuring designs align with brand identity and customer preferences.
Provide design specifications (e.g., measurements, trims, prints) and tech packs for manufacturing.
Stay up to date with the latest trends in activewear, gymwear, and fitness fashion.
Offer professional advice on design development, color trends, and fabric sourcing.

Requirements:
Proven experience as a fashion designer with a focus on activewear, gymwear, or performance apparel.
Strong portfolio showcasing your design work in the activewear or sportswear sector.
Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other CAD tools).
Strong understanding of fabric types, finishes, and garment construction, specifically in activewear and gymwear.
Knowledge of current color trends, especially in fitness and athleisure markets, with an eye for innovative and bold color palettes.
Ability to work on a per-design, project-based freelance contract.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate remotely with a team.
Passion for fitness and an understanding of the functionality needs in activewear and gymwear.
A keen attention to detail and a creative mindset.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with sustainable fabrics and eco-friendly design principles.
Experience in designing for men’s fitness wear, streetwear, or athleisure.
Familiarity with UK market preferences and trends in sports fashion.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary, Fixed term contract, Freelance
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: £15.00-£18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 16 per week
