Assistant Service Manager

Job Description

A prestige main dealer in Taunton are looking for a new colleague, with the necessary skills and experience, to become their ASSISTANT SERVICE MANAGER – supporting the Service Manager with the day-to-day operations of the department.

Working Monday – Friday, you will be second in command, taking responsibility for the department budget, being the escalation for customer complaints, ensuring they are dealt with effectively and efficiently. Providing strategic support to the service team, motivating them to achieve sales in line with expectations, will be a key activity.

For your application to be progressed, :

• Efficiently manage resources workshop control to deliver quality service on time.
• Cohesively communicate with your colleagues across all areas of the business; liaising with all departments to deliver the agreed objectives.
• Prioritise the customer experience throughout the service operation.
• Manage customer complaints (in person, email and telephone) in partnership with the brand.
• Daily control of work in progress.
• Ensure there is a daily routine to check and resolve cash and account debtors.
• Ensures the maximisation of upsell and service plan opportunities to the customer.
• Develop strong professional relationships to facilitate the delivery of a consistent high level of service.
• Ensuring the customer is fully informed of any changes to costs including invoice explanation and advising on any future requirements.
• Manage the authorisation of warranty and goodwill to meet the manufacturer’s recommendations.
• Review performance with the Service Manager and collectively stratergise improvements.
• Ensure all relevant marketing information is maintained on the customer/prospect database.

Candidates must have an up-to-date main dealer Aftersales background in senior customer service, with exposure to all aspects of the department and a concise knowledge of procedures, processes and related IT / DMS.
