Since 2020, we have pioneered the world’s most versatile direct air capture (DAC) technology to recover historic CO₂ emissions from the atmosphere, anywhere, at any scale.

Backed by Breakthrough Energy Ventures, the XPRIZE foundation, Stripe, and the UK Government, we’ve moved a brand new climate technology from lab scale to commercial plants in under three years, to empower carbon removal and sustainable utilisation.

About the role
You have the opportunity to join MZT at a crucial juncture in our company’s evolution—transitioning from an innovative R&D startup into a global player ready to implement and scale our DAC technology.
As Procurement Specialist, you will be instrumental in executing and leading procurement processes that support our capital projects, facilitating the successful market integration of our Direct Air Capture (DAC) solutions.
MZT is seeking a Procurement Specialist with advanced expertise in purchasing and cross-functional collaboration. The role will focus on strengthening and expanding our supply chain by nurturing existing relationships and building new partnerships that support the rapid, sustainable scale-up of our novel technology. Success in this role will ensure the company secures reliable, value driven supplier relationships that are aligned with our growth objectives and long-term strategic goals.
Reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager, you will collaborate closely with Finance, Project Managers, Engineering, and R&D teams to implement robust procurement processes for our Direct Air Capture (DAC) projects across multiple regions.
The role is primarily an office-based role with occasional travelling to prospective and chosen suppliers, with flexibility to work remotely at reasonable frequencies.

What you’ll be doing
  • Leading procurement processes for equipment and packages for assembly into our carbon negative DAC products to be delivered to multiple locations
  • Engaging with our global suppliers in order to secure pragmatic, rapid and competitive bids
  • Monitor suppliers performance on Capacity, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Lead Time metrics, and ensure action plans are developed and executed to meet the performance targets
  • Collaborate and understand business requirements for suppliers, proposing solutions as needed to meet business expectations
  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of up-to-date due diligence procedures and records to guarantee that all suppliers adhere to the company’s ethical and operational standards

  • A passion for developing procurement and supply chain solutions for the world’s greatest challenges
  • Hardware product experience
  • Proven experience in enabling supplier negotiations and supporting the development of service and supply agreements
  • Experience working in a startup environment or rapidly growing company, where processes and workflows are still developing
  • Ability to work with technical individuals and teams closely, although you may not necessarily have a technical background
  • Ability to interface with key engineering disciplines in the specification for procurement requirements
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders

Ideally you’ll also have
  • Experience in a startup environment
  • Background in engineering or science, with a focus on energy or environmental technologies
  • Experience across multiple industries
  • Experience with supporting supplier due diligence and supply chain management
  • Basic understanding of fundamental electrochemistry principles and background industrial chemistry knowledge

What we can offer you
  • 30 Days of Annual Leave
  • 3 Months Enhanced Paternity/Maternity Leave
  • £500 Annual Personal Development Grant
  • Unlimited mental health support
  • Employee Share Options Scheme
  • Christmas holidays office closure
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Employer-matched contributions to global re-wilding programme
