About The Role


SENIOR LIFE PRACTITIONER

Due to continued organisational growth and development opportunities for our current staff, we are recruiting for a Senior Life Practitioner to join our well-established team.


You must have a full UK driving licence held for 2 years.


What will you be doing:

  • Lead by example, behave and communicate appropriately at all times.
  • Positively contribute to the personal development of our young people with both practical and emotional support.
  • Participate in a wide range of exciting activities within the home and wider community
  • Use knowledge and experience to contribute positively to care planning and participate supportively in reviews as requested
  • Maintain accurate, clear and concise record keeping.
  • Take ownership for developing and strengthening links with families, friends and relevant significant others.
  • Work in partnership with the Night Team Leader to ensure streamlined service delivery and consistent communication throughout the site.
  • Proactively participate in supporting the staff team carrying out regular supervisions as requested.
  • Attend and contribute positively to regular staff meetings and hand-over meetings, ensuring all relevant information is disseminated appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Contribute positively to the training and development of the staff team to include own personal development / highlighting any training needs.


About You

What experience and qualifications do you need:

  • Diploma Level 3 in Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrable experience supporting individuals with a learning disability, autism and associated complex needs
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to include computer literacy

About the position:
Reporting into the Registered Manager, the Senior Residential Support Worker is responsible for advocating and providing person centred care and supporting our staff team to perform their wide range of duties appropriately and effectively, ensuring they can deliver the best possible care and support to our residents.


About You

  • Using knowledge and experience, contribute positively to care planning and participate supportively in reviews as requested, demonstrating a sound knowledge regarding nutrition and hygiene.
  • Maintain accurate, clear and concise record keeping.
  • Take ownership for key-worker duties and where appropriate look to develop and strengthen links with families, friends and relevant significant others.
  • Work in partnership with the Manager to ensure streamlined service delivery and consistent communication across the homes.
  • Proactively participate in supporting the staff team to include carrying out supervisions as requested.
  • Attend and contribute positively to regular staff meetings and hand-over meetings, ensuring all relevant information is disseminated appropriately and in a timely manner.

About The Role

We are looking for Life Senior Practitioners to join our team at The Old Elms in Retford, Nottinghamshire.

We are looking for a compassionate, enthusiastic, and dedicated Senior Life Practitioner to join our team. As a Senior Life Practitioner, you will provide essential support to individuals with severe learning disabilities and complex needs. You will play a key role in helping them live fulfilling, independent lives by assisting them in daily activities and accompanying them on trips into the community. Senior Practitioner will report into the Registered Manager and support Life Practitioners day to day.

We provide a company vehicle that can be used to transport the people we support to community activities such as shopping, meals, appointments, and outings. To drive the company vehicle you must have held a full UK drivers licence or have been driving in the UK for 2 years or more.
