Then reach out! Kingston Barnes is recruiting a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for one of our clients in the Brislington area.

The Company:

The company manufacture brake pads for the automotive industry.

The Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for both pre planned and reactive mechanical machinery maintenance and repairs.

Duties include, but aren’t limited to:

· Performing preventative and reactive maintenance on machinery

· Diagnosing faults in mechanical systems

· Analysing machine performance data to identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies in production processes.

· Investigating equipment failures to determine the root causes and implementing corrective actions.

About you:

· Mechanical maintenance engineer with some electrical skills such as fault finding

  • Experience of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Fabrication/welding experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of control gear, PLC systems.
  • Knowledge of 3 phase power supply.
  • Conversant with Health & Safety Rules.
  • Team player with good communication skills.
  • Hold a UK Driving licence

Package:

· £35,000 – £40,000

· Day shift Monday – Friday 7am – 3:30pm, earlier finish on Fridays

About the Role

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the manufacturing lines. You will be working a 3 shift pattern consisting of afternoons and nights. You will be reporting directly to the Site Maintenance Manager, you’ll work closely with the production and technical teams to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency. Responsibilities

  • Conduct preventative and reactive maintenance to ensure manufacturing lines operate efficiently.
  • Collaborate with production and technical teams to align with production schedules.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults, contributing to continuous improvement of equipment performance.
  • Support efforts to minimise production downtime and maintain operational excellence.


Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, such as ONC Mechanical or BTEC Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering
  • Proven background in engineering and fault-finding roles within an FMCG environment, ideally in the food industry.
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
