King’s Sport & Wellness have a mission of delivering unique sport and wellness experiences to unite our communities and optimise our people and their potential. To deliver this mission, we established the Waterloo Sport & Wellness Centre in 2022 and deliver a range of programmes and activities, driving engagement across the University.
About the role:
The Wellness Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating & developing the Active Wellness Scheme, supporting the department outcomes of physical and mental wellbeing, individual development & community cohesion and social integration.
Focusing on the wellbeing and experience of the Kings community the post holder will work with gym staff and other wellbeing coordinators to ensure support is effective, inclusive and engaging for the whole Kings community.
Working cross-functionally the post holder will also develop relationships with faculties, departments, professional services and external partners to coordinate our King’s Sport & Wellness Academy, developing our Coaching, Workforce and Volunteering opportunities for students. This, contributing directly to increasing our social impact as a university and delivering our Service Strategy.
This is a full time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.
About you:
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
- Level 2 Fitness Qualification
- Ability to lead and inspire others
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal the ability to deal effectively with students, coaches and sports development staff
- Excellent project management skills
- Substantial experience of physical activity or wellness in higher education or similar organization
- Experience of partnership working, developing and managing relationships
- Ability to prioritize work effectively in order to achieve short-, medium- and long-term objectives
- Experience of and aptitude for organizing and coordinating meetings and events, often liaising with senior staff and external partners
Desirable criteria
- University Degree in Mental Health related area or MHFA experience
- GP Exercise Referral qualification
