The key responsibilities for an Nursery Administrator is to:

  • Monitor and reply to emails, in conjunction with the Nursery Manager
  • Take phone calls, answering or referring queries as appropriate – communicating with the Nursery Manager
  • Conduct nursery tours with confidence and a sound knowledge of the registration process
  • Record keeping; registration of new children, ensure all children’s records are up to date, confidential and accurate from time of registration
  • Looking at waiting lists and available spaces working towards increasing the occupancy

To be successful for this role you should:

  • Provide outstanding customer service
  • Have good time management, meeting deadlines
  • Understand Microsoft Office and how to use the daily functions within this

Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organised Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support, ensuring the smooth operation of two nursery settings. This role requires proficiency in various software applications and strong clerical skills to manage daily tasks efficiently.

This role also requires the candidate to have a relevant childcare qualification and safeguarding knowledge as it may require working in a nursery setting to provide some staff cover occasionally

The successful candidate will work across two settings

Duties

  • Provide clerical support and maintain nursery files
  • Manage office correspondence, including emails and postal mail, maintaining an organised filing system.
  • Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accessible.
  • Assist with bookkeeping tasks including invoicing and tracking expenses.
  • Support the team with clerical duties such as typing reports, preparing presentations, and managing calendars.
  • Maintain office supplies inventory, placing orders as necessary to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Coordinate meetings and events, including taking and logging minutes.
  • Preparation of paperwork and contracts for new staff
  • Maintain accurate staff, children and parent records
  • Issue parent terms and conditions and manage all funding paperwork

Experience
The successful candidate should possess the following skills:

  • Proven experience in an administrative role or similar position.
  • Understanding of nursery processes
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Excellent typing skills with attention to detail for accurate data entry.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Previous childcare experience
