We’re looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to join our project team based in Loughton.


Location
: Loughton, Essex – remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required


What will you be responsible for?

As a Quality Assurance Manager, you’ll be working within the project team, supporting them in delivering multi-million pound schemes.

The construction business contributes c.40% of the group revenue and our success is achieved from being the partner of choice for our customer, employees, supply chain and consultants. We value long term relationships, entering the public sector work through frameworks or repeat business with blue chip private sector clients who share our values. Your day to day will include:

  • To support the project delivery team and supply chain with planning for an error free delivery of the facilities we build. Particularly through the creation and use of quality documentation, such as, Inspection and Test Plans.
  • Support the delivery team to achieve compliance against the specifications through the application of research and knowledge of Construction products, components and processes.
  • To undertake technical audits to monitor compliance and develop action plans to address any non-conformances.
  • Identify trends in non-conformance reports and develop strategy to address any issues arising.
  • Undertake site visits and inspect works, checking for compliance.


What are we looking for?

This role of Quality Assurance Manager is great for you if:

  • Logical Problem Solving and effective auditing skills
  • Ability to be able to research, interpret and report on quality data and findings and a technical understanding of Construction processes.
  • Potential subject matter expert in an area of construction items
  • Working understanding of the Building Regulations is desirable
  • Desirable to have a background or good understanding in delivery of construction projects particularly in the Inspection and Test Plan process

Monday to Friday (40 hours per week)

We’re recruiting at our Droitwich Dairy for a Quality Assurance Manager to join us on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will provide governance of the quality management system to ensure delivery of best in class products whilst striving to continuously improve in line with Müller values, they will enable Operational Excellence through quality compliance.

Quality Assurance Manager Role & Responsibilities:
  • Provides expertise through Quality Management Systems Knowledge.
  • Displays drive and motivation to continually improve quality based performance.
  • Demonstrates active involvement in solving problems.
  • Plays an active part in building QMS capability across site.
  • Responsible for laboratory management and other QMS duties.
  • Supports and process confirms operations quality control responsibilities.
  • Displays strong IT skills and capability.
  • Provides governance and ownership of Quality Index and other monthly reports.
  • Responsible for internal and external audit processes.
  • Creates positive and collaborative relationships with suppliers and customers.
  • Looks and encourages others to find “waste” opportunities in everything that we do.
  • Seeks out improvement opportunities within the workplace and converts to own CI projects.
  • Owns and delivers CI initiatives and is recognised for these.
  • Utilises all available opportunities, enabling others to improve the way we do things.
  • Collaboratively works with other teams to improve our business.
  • Supports team to demonstrate CI contribution through PDP process.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Quality Assurance Manager to join the Kerry Food & Nutrition team at our Portbury site in Bristol.


What will I be doing?

Quality Assurance Management

  • Support food safety and quality systems (QC & QA).
  • Develop, review, and align procedures with Kerry global standards and GFSI standards and global customer expectations.
  • Internally audit against global and regional standards using Intelex.
  • Support food safety and quality systems including HACCP, Food Safety Plan, GMP, GLP, Pest Control, and Sanitation.
  • Product Microbiological and other Standards – Corrective Actions & trending of all results.
  • Non-Conformances – Ensure the management of non-conformances to the business where non-conformance is identified with root cause and CAPA.
  • Overall responsible for the on-site analytical laboratory and ensuring GLP are being followed.
  • Life extensions – Ensure the management/ authorisation of life extension requests from Ops teams and agree actions required.

Compliance

  • Enforce Kerry manufacturing standards (ingredient/product standards, process specifications, formula compliance, sanitation/GMP/pest control).
  • Ensure products are compliant and safe.
  • HACCP – Ensure HACCP in production areas is being implemented and documented

Quality Improvement

  • Track and trend KPIs.
  • Support plant Quality Improvement and Master Plans.
  • Partner cross-functionally for quality and process improvement using RCAAP principles.
  • Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement – Coach and drive the culture of problem solving and continuous improvement through KPS tools to improve standards – ensure effective reviews are taking place between each operational department

Customer Satisfaction

  • Proactively investigate customer complaints and technical issues and ensure root cause and CAPA is implemented.
  • Ensure raw material risk assessments are completed, reviewed and raw materials are tested and released to meet production demand.

Managerial Responsibilities

  • Handle recruitment, organizational development, personnel assessment, training, direction, and motivation.
  • Support the FSQ Manager with budgets and utilize resources effectively.
  • Support as delegate to the FSQ Manager during absence or when required.

What do I need to be successful?

These include:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or similar Science/Engineering.
  • Strong coach and people developer, keen to improve the skillsets and capabilities.
  • Previous experience managing large operational teams.
  • Have significant experience in change management.
  • Knowledge of food manufacturing dealing with complex sites/processes in a high care environment
  • SAP experience would be advantageous.
  • Able to work autonomously and seek advice/escalate issues as required.
