Job Description

At Kids Ahoy we have expanded our nursery and After School service with the introduction of our new fully outdoor nursery as well as renovations to our birth to 3 facilities! Due to the increase in numbers as a result of this, we are looking to add to our wonderful staff team of childcare practitioners.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated practitioner to join our nurturing team at Kids Ahoy Childcare Centre. This role involves providing exceptional care and guidance to children across various age groups . You will play a crucial role in creating a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment for children to flourish.

We are recruiting a fully qualified early years practitioners to work between our indoor and outdoor nurseries.

Applicants must hold a HNC or Level 3 SVQ in Early Years environment.

It would be preferred if candidates held a UK drivers licence or are able to travel to our outdoor nursery a short drive out of the town centre.

This position is PART TIME. We are looking for practitioners who can work around 16 hours a week.

We use a flexible rota system.

As a practitioner at Kids Ahoy Nursery your key duties will include:

1. Providing a safe, stimulating play/care and educational environment for babies and children attending the various services of the Childcare Centre.

2. Ensuring that a high-quality play/care/educational environment is maintained at all times.

3. Following Kids Ahoy policies and procedures.

4. Following a curriculum framework for children 3-5 years / and framework for birth to three.

5. Working closely within a team to operate a programme of activities that meet the individual needs and interests of children in your care.

6. To be part of a keyworker system building up relationships with individual children and their families and working with parents to monitor their child’s progress in the nursery and at home.

7. Travelling with the children to our outdoor forest nursery.

8. Supporting the children with their outdoor learning experience.

9. Taking part in in-service training/outside training courses as appropriate.

10. Being prepared to work with a constantly changing and developing environment.

11. To undertake any other duties as deemed appropriate by the nursery manager or team leader.

12. Ensuring awareness of procedures for risk management, equalities, confidentiality, and behaviour management
