Lab Chemist

Midlands, West and North West

Up to £34000

We are currently recruiting for a lab chemist in a range of locations to join a leading hazardous waste specialist.

We are looking for graduates and experienced chemists to join high functioning and experienced teams in growing and stable companies.

The Job

· Provide cover 7am – 6pm

· Control vehicle access/driver induction and operate weighbridge

· Carry out all administrative checks on statutory paperwork on arrival/departure

· Carry out comprehensive pre-acceptance analysis of sales samples

· Deliver sales enquires to CS within a targeted timescale

· Carry out waste verification analysis of loads on arrival

· Carry out drum analysis on request of TS

· Carry out twice daily compliance testing for effluent (before 11 am for pro flow sample)

· Generate NC reports and liase with Bulk enquiry team and chemists

· Carry out twice weekly Filter cake analysis

· Provide support analysis for chemist as & when requested

· Ensure all lab records are maintained and current

· Ensure all lab equipment & instruments are maintained, and calibrated

· Ensure lab consumables are sufficiently stocked

· Provide cover on Saturdays (7/8am – 2pm)

· Provide shift cover as and when required

Experience

• Min HNC Chemistry qualification
• GCSE or equivalent in Mathematics and English Language
• IOSH or other safety qualifications
• Management training or qualifications
• Minimum 1 year analytical laboratory
• IT literate –use of Microsoft office
• Familiar with analytical test methods and procedures to meet Quality Management System requirements.
• Understanding commercial aims.
• Knowledge & understanding of the requirements of working within a time critical environment.
