Housing Officer / Tenant Liaison Officer

PLEASE NOTE

A Full Driving Licence and Access to own transport is required to be considered for this role.

ABOUT THE ROLE;

Hours – 10.00am to 5.00pm

Working days – Monday to Friday

Arrange access to properties and ensure the properties are kept to a high standard.

Delivering an outstanding housing service to vulnerable residents.

Act as a first line support to customers and visitors to the site, providing a professional and friendly service.

Provide advice and assistance to our residents on all housing matters.

Be the point of contact between the tenant and management.

Enforcement of the organisation’s conditions of tenancy, particularly in relation to the condition of the property.

Carry out property inspections.

YOU MUST HAVE;

The right to work in the UK.

A professional demeanour with sound judgement and integrity.

Experience of working with landlords, tenants and residents in a social housing sector.

Experience of working with vulnerable or challenging adults.

Experience of working with a diverse range of customers and dealing with a variety of situations.

An ability to manage confidential and personal information appropriately and sensitively.

Excellent time management.

Knowledge of the MS Office suite (particularly Outlook, Word and Excel).

Job Description

This Role: Local Housing Manager (Housing Officer)


Location: The Welford Centre – 113 Chalkhill Road – Wembley, HA9 9FX


Fixed Term Position until August 2025

Salary: £40,915 based on a 37.5hr week.

As a Local Housing Manager with MTVH your home office will be located at the Welford Centre in Wembley where you will attend at least 2 days a week. The remaining days you will be out on site where you will manage and coordinate excellent housing and estate services within a defined geographical patch. You will be the face of MTVH as our representative covering rented tenures based within Ealing, Brent, Hammersmith, Fulham and Westminster.

The Local Housing Manager is our customers main point of contact with respect to complaints, estate services, tenancy management, anti-social behaviour, tenancy enforcement and lettings management. To ensure you can deal with our customers’ needs efficiently, effectively and to a high standard we will provide you with the support of our in-house specialist teams, ensuring you are able to provide solutions and be responsible for your own patch.

Key to this role will be the coordination of internal and external services to meet the diverse needs of customers to a high standard and within the guidelines set. In addition, you will manage the relationship and increase MTVH’s reputation with defined Local Authority Partners & other external agencies, also participating in local initiatives that will improve the lives of our customers.


What you will need to succeed
:

  • Essential car user
  • An established & proven background of working within the housing sector having experience of assisting customers with regards to complaints, estate services, tenancy & lettings management, anti-social behaviour & tenancy enforcement.
  • Experience of dealing with customers from diverse backgrounds, presenting with complex or challenging needs is essential both faces to face & in writing.
  • Strong administration skills with a focus on attention to detail, accuracy in writing, reporting and numeracy.
  • Must possess excellent office management skills, managing inboxes, keys etc.
  • Being able to demonstrate the ability to adapt and be flexible
  • A self-starter who isn’t afraid of a challenge, who can show innovation, initiative, empathy & passion.
  • Ability to collaborate, network and be a strong team player.


The nature of this role means that the post holder will be regularly involved in activities with vulnerable adults who receive social care. To meet our commitment to providing safe, high quality services to our customers we will complete a basic background check with the Disclosure and Barring Service once an offer of employment is made.
