Job Summary
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Inspector to join our Client’s team on the night shift( 19:00pm -3am) Pay reflects a competitive rate for the nights £15 p h . The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to maintaining quality standards and a proactive approach to problem-solving with minimum of 2 years experience with hand held scanners.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections of products and processes to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Implement and monitor HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) plans to ensure food safety and quality.
  • Collaborate with production teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain an organised record of all quality assurance activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a quality assurance role is essential.
  • Experience in operating hand held scanners is a must.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data effectively.
  • Familiarity with HACCP principles and practices is highly desirable.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for reporting findings clearly.

We are currently looking for someone to join our highly experienced inspection team right away to take on the role of Quality Inspector.

The majority of these are milling and turning centres, but we also have excellent grinding and EDM (electrical dis-charge machining) capabilities to manufacture the more difficult and intricate features. We produce components for the leading manufacturers in the civil, commercial military and marine industries.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

As an integral part of this team, you’ll have the opportunity to be involved in:

  • Using multiple Inspection methods to ensure quality and conformity.
  • Ensuring parts are distributed throughout our subcon network correctly and expeditiously.
  • Investigating non-conformance to find root causes.
  • Using and maintaining top of the range measuring equipment.
  • Effectively work within a team environment, communicating with fellow team members and members of other production teams.
  • Working in line with internal processes.
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings.
  • This list highlights key aspects of the role but is not exhaustive. You will need to be prepared to undertake other reasonable duties as and when required.

If you have experience in inspection within aircraft, manufacturing and/or multiple complex components we would be especially excited to hear from you.

Experience operating a CMM would be hugely beneficial but is not a requirement as training will be provided.

Working Patterns

Standard shift patterns will be 6am-2pm/2pm-10pm alternating weeks however we allow our team to arrange their workload to finish early on Fridays.

Join our team of experts as a Quality Inspector where you will be responsible for inspecting manufactured components and fabrications to customer and/or internally designed drawings / CAD models.

With your experience and understanding in quality engineering, you will play a vital role ensuring continuation of our excellent production of metal products and will successfully verify machined parts and fabricated assemblies.

In this key position, you’ll take an active role in ensuring we deliver outstanding quality products, first time, every time.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

· To follow the Inspection Plan set by the Quality Manager

· Conduct effective inspections using the equipment available in a timely manner

· Create inspection reports, on all components and fabrications.

· Liaise with the Quality Engineers, where required

· Conduct monthly internal calibration of measurement equipment to the calibration schedule and maintain the calibration register and records

ABOUT YOU:

· Previous quality / inspection experience in a metal engineering manufacturing environment

· Strong knowledge using the following methods;

o Measuring arms (Faro or other)

o CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine)

o General handheld equipment (Vernier, Tape, Rule, Bevel Box etc.)

· Knowledge of problem-solving techniques

· A flexible approach to be able to adapt to changing and challenging requirements

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels

· Ability to remain focused on Quality and consistently reiterate its importance to others

· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to generate innovative concepts and ideas

Our client a locally owned leading engineering company going through current expansion are in search of a Quality Inspector to join their established team.

The job role:

  • Quality Control Inspector is actively engaged to ensure products produced meet customer requirements and ensure quality control systems are maintained throughout manufacture.
  • Inspectors will have day to day responsibility for working with staff in Quality and Technical departments, while progressing jobs with engineers and machine operators.
  • Carrying out detailed goods inwards, work in progress and finished build inspections to ensure conformity.
  • Monitor the quality of incoming parts and raw materials to ensure they are up to standard
  • Performing routine visual and dimensional inspections and checking for surface defects, cleaning etc. in accordance with the Company’s drawings and procedures.
  • Using standard handheld measuring equipment, surface plate equipment, CMM, comparator, fixed gauging, thread gauges etc. to measure to a high level of accuracy and precision.
  • Review new NCs raised and ensure all mandatory information is captured and preventative actions put in place to prevent reoccurrence. Monitor and approve closure of NC actions

What you will need to be successful:

  • 3rd level qualification in engineering
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a Quality Inspector & control in an engineering manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of special processes (e.g. welding, painting) including WPS.
  • Demonstrable experience of using value added quality principles and facilitating improvement throughout the quality assurance process, by utilising practical problem-solving techniques such as 5Y, 8D, cause and effect analysis etc.
  • Previous experience of working in line with ISO 9001 (2015) or a strong understanding the principles of ISO standards.
