Position: Assistant Engineering Manager
Salary: £47,000 – £52,000 per annum
Overtime: Available & Optional
Location: Leicester

We are currently looking for an Assistant Engineering Manager to join our client’s dedicated Engineering team in their commitment in providing a high standard of service output for their customers.

Assistant Engineering Manager Required Qualifications:

· City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repairs

· Car Driving licence

· Supervisory/Managerial Experience

Assistant Engineering Manager Main Duties:

· Daily management of the engineering function

· Ensuring the fleet of PSVs are maintained to DVSA standards

· Achieving maximum vehicle availability & continually improving standards

· Direct influence on Health & Safety, compliance, culture, fatigue management & employee wellbeing

· Collaborate, as a member of the senior engineering & local management teams, with colleagues to further develop the business within budgetary guidelines

Job Description

  • Support the Engineering Manager in the day-to-day operations of the department.
  • Assist in developing and implementing engineering strategies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with different teams to ensure the smooth execution of projects.
  • Monitor and maintain all engineering equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Provide technical guidance to the engineering team.
  • Implement safety measures and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
  • Oversee troubleshooting and repairs to resolve equipment issues.
  • Participate in budgeting and cost estimation for engineering projects.

Monday – Friday – Days

The Successful Applicant

You will be an experienced Engineering Team Lead/Senior Engineer/Assistant Engineering Manager, that’s looking for that next step in their career, as well as:

  • A recognised Engineering qualification (Minimum Level 3)
  • Proven experience in an engineering management or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering procedures and principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities and a collaborative work style.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
