Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Manager to join our care home team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the overall management of the facility, ensuring high standards of care for our residents, particularly those with mental health needs. This position requires strong leadership skills and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our residents through effective care plans and supervision.
Duties
- Assist the Manager in overseeing daily operations of the care home, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Supervise staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.
- Administer medication as required, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Develop and implement individual care plans tailored to meet the specific needs of residents.
- Conduct regular assessments of resident health and wellbeing, making necessary adjustments to care plans.
- Foster a positive environment that promotes dignity, respect, and independence among residents.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and staff to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
- Lead training sessions for staff on best practices in senior care and dementia care.
Skills
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Experience in medication administration within a care home setting is essential.
- Strong understanding of senior care principles, particularly in relation to dementia care.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with residents, families, and staff.
- Ability to develop and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to individual resident needs.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in supervising daily operations and maintaining records.
- Compassionate approach towards resident care with a commitment to enhancing their quality of life.
- NVQ/Diploma Level 3 in Health & Social Care
You should have a good working knowledge of CQC and the Regulatory Standards, excellent communication and organisational skills with a flexible and ‘can do’ attitude. The hours are 36 hours per week Monday to Friday predominantly, however from time to time you may be required to work outside of these hours.
