Overview:
We are seeking a talented and creative Graphic Designer to join a fun digital agency in Cheshire. The ideal candidate will possess a strong portfolio showcasing their expertise in illustrative design and typography. The ideal candidate should be proficient in using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, and have a background in creating visually engaging designs that effectively communicate their brand message.

Key Responsibilities as a Graphic Designer:

  • Design and create high-quality graphics for email campaigns, ensuring they are visually appealing and aligned with brand guidelines.
  • Develop eye-catching ad graphics for social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Snapchat.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to conceptualise and execute creative campaigns that drive engagement and conversions.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends and digital marketing strategies to ensure content is fresh and innovative.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Edit and optimise graphics for different formats and devices to ensure the best user experience across all platforms.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their needs and deliver designs that meet their objectives

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Graphic Designer, preferably in a digital marketing agency or similar environment.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing your design skills, particularly in digital media and social media graphics.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects).
  • Understanding of design principles, typography, colour theory, and layout techniques.
  • Knowledge of current social media trends and best practices for creating engaging content.
  • Ability to take creative direction and collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and a passion for creating high-quality work.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with video editing and animation is a plus.
  • Familiarity with HTML and CSS for email design.
  • Knowledge of UX/UI principles for creating user-friendly digital experiences

About the role

The successful candidate will be part of a small in-house Design Team, working within a large international Marketing team. Reporting to the Design & Brand Manager, you will be responsible for producing visually appealing and effective designs that communicate our brand message and resonate with our target audience. You will have a passion for video production and digital tools and will be responsible for creating innovative designs for a wide range of multimedia platforms, digital and print; including websites, social media, advertisements, presentations, exhibitions, and other marketing materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop design concepts and creative solutions for various projects, including but not limited to print materials, digital assets, packaging, and signage
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to produce effective and engaging multimedia content
  • Maintain brand guidelines and ensure consistency across all marketing materials and platforms
  • Manage multiple projects with competing priorities and deadlines
  • Create engaging multimedia projects including video/ animations to support marketing initiatives
  • Stay up-to-date with current design trends and technologies to continuously improve and evolve multimedia offerings


Qualifications/ Skills/ Attributes:


Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent higher-level qualification in Graphic Design, Multimedia Design, or a related field
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and particularly Video Production (After Effects, Premiere Pro)
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating skills and creativity in video production, and graphic design
  • Strong understanding of design principles, colour theory, and typography
  • Genuine team player with excellent communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft programmes (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)


Desirable:

  • 2 years of employment experience in graphic design, this could be in a business/ marketing or agency setting
  • Experience in 3D rendering (KeyShot or similar)
  • Photography/ videography skills

As a Design Cloud designer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality graphic design work across a diverse set of daily requests from our varied client base.

What you’ll be doing day-to-day:

  • Communicating directly with our customers through our platform and Slack messenger.
  • Executing daily graphic design requests from client briefs.
  • Ensure requests are being delivered to an exceptional standard and on time.
  • Reviewing and proofreading your own work for accuracy and quality control.
  • Pitching in with design ideas for Design Cloud advertising and marketing campaigns.

Essential Skills & Requirements:

  • Friendly, positive attitude with a can-do mentality and hunger to develop new skills in graphic design.
  • Highly organised with an exceptional eye for detail and passion for current and future design trends.
  • Minimum of 3yrs commercial experience working full time in the creative industry. Agency experience is preferred or working as a busy in-house graphic designer.
  • Razor-sharp, diverse portfolio of varied graphic design work. We’re looking for neat and tidy layout work above all. Please don’t just send a portfolio of logos.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite products, specifically, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. (You will be asked to demonstrate your design skills as part of the interview process)
  • Ability to quickly and accurately respond to briefs. The majority of our client design requests require a rapid turnaround and all requests must be delivered to a high standard. (You will be asked to demonstrate your ability to read a brief and tested on how quickly you can produce a draft as part of the interview process)
  • Thrive on working in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and communication skills with the ability to proof-read your own work before sending it back to clients is crucial.
  • Experience in communicating directly with clients is desired but not essential.
  • Possess the ability to look up and learn how to do new things if you’re unsure or have questions.

Job Duties:

  • Collaborate with other teams and use feedback to develop final drafts
  • Revise the work of previous designers, making sure that designs meet guidelines and are consistent across formats
  • Work on multiple projects at once whilst consistently adhering to tight deadlines
  • Communicate frequently with clients to update them on the progress of the project and to answer any questions they might have
  • Other duties as requested
