Workshop Fitter/Manager position

Job Description

KPT SOLUTIONS are looking for an experienced workshop fitter/manager to join our Plant and Tool Hire team in Dartford, Kent.

We run a well- established operation with full on-site facilities and fully equipped workshop from our own premises and have a wide range of small, medium and larger size tools and plant associated with construction sites.

The department is always busy with equipment going out and coming in on a daily basis and is an important and valued division of KPT Solutions business.

This is an opportunity for an experienced, ‘’hands on’’ fitter to put their mark on the department and show us what you can do – if you have not yet run your own department but are ready to ‘’step up’’ then we are interested in meeting you – progress will be rewarded accordingly.

As a fitter / workshop manager your duties will include:

· The effective running of the department, managing a team of 2-3 filters

· Documenting and filing service information / records / safety records

· Fault finding, maintenance, PAT testing and repairs to electrical and petrol tools

· Understanding of Hydraulics, Pneumatic, Mechanical and Electrical

• Working on a wide variety of plant to include low level access equipment

· Analytical approach to problem solving

· Able to work without instruction

· Able to set and maintain high standards

· Good communication skills, both verbal & written

· Full UK driving licence

The successful applicant for the role of fitter / workshop manager must be able to demonstrate the following:

· Ability to run workshop – if you have not yet run your own workshop and are ready to step up then then this is the perfect opportunity –

• A relevant mechanical/electrical qualification (or time served)
• Current PAT testing certificate
• Proven ability to test and run electrical/petrol tools.

In the role of fitter / workshop manager you will work 7am to 5pm from Monday to Friday and every second Saturday – renumeration package as follows –

• A salary of 40,000 + per annum

• Company shut down from 24th December to the 2nd January
