Job title: HR Projects Manager (Grade 9)
Location: Service Headquarters, Maidstone – mixture of office and home working – 3 days per week in office (with travel countywide, based on needs)
Hours: Full time – 37 Hours per week
Base salary: £54,818 – £62,544 per annum depending on experience
Pension: Automatic membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme – career average pension scheme with 17.5% employer contribution
Holidays: In addition to entitlement to bank/ public holidays you will receive 31 days holiday

Being the HR Projects Manager
The HR Projects Manager will deliver key HR initiatives and projects that support the organisation’s strategic goals. You will manage multiple small to medium sized HR projects at one time.
Operating within a Tiered service provision and Centres of Excellence structure, this role requires advanced theoretical, practical, and procedural knowledge across multiple HR areas and detailed understanding of organisational policies and practices.
You will lead and manage cross-functional HR projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards. The role is integral to the successful execution of HR projects, supporting key initiatives such as employee experience, digital transformation, diversity and inclusion programs, or talent management strategies
What you’ll do
- Project Leadership: Lead, manage, and deliver complex HR projects that require high-level strategic thinking and long-term planning, ensuring alignment with business objectives and HR strategy
- Provide expert advice and guidance on the implementation of HR policies and initiatives
- Oversee and coordinate seconded colleagues or contingent workers brought in to support specific projects, ensuring they are effectively utilised and managed throughout the project lifecycle
- Implement change management strategies to ensure successful adoption of new processes, systems, or policies introduced through HR projects
What you’ll bring
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in HR project management or a similar role within an HR function.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related fields.
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile).
- Professional HR qualification such as CIPD Level 5 or higher (or equivalent).
- In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, policies, and procedures across areas such as talent management, employee experience, and diversity & inclusion
- Knowledge of change management frameworks and techniques to support successful project implementation
- Experience working in a matrixed or collaborative team environment, leading cross-functional initiatives.
- Experience managing relationships with external vendors or service providers to support HR projects
- Experience working on HRIS or HR technology implementations – Desirable
