Job title: Health and Wellbeing Manager (Grade 8)

Location: Service Headquarters, Maidstone – mixture of office and home working – 3 days per week in office (with travel countywide, based on needs)

Hours: Full time – 37 Hours per week

Base salary: £47,076 – £52,397 per annum depending on experience

Pension: Automatic membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme – career average pension scheme with 17.5% employer contribution

Holidays: In addition to entitlement to bank/ public holidays you will receive 31 days holiday

Being the Health and Wellbeing Manager

The Health and Wellbeing Manager is responsible for designing, leading, and proactively managing strategies to enhance mental and physical health across the Service. You will provide expertise on health and wellbeing to ensure comprehensive wellbeing services.

The Health and Wellbeing Manager will maintain and develop, oversee and deliver wellbeing programs, manage the Health and Wellbeing team, and coordinate the work of Welfare Support Officers, post-incident support colleagues and Family Support Officers.

The role holder will be required to be on-call 24/7, one week in five to provide telephone welfare support.

What you’ll do

  • Design, develop, and implement best practice wellbeing strategies, through monitoring of internal and external trends, emerging issues and researching other organisations to promote good mental and physical wellbeing
  • Maintain wellbeing education and awareness.
  • Manage the mental/physical wellbeing budgets and relevant third-party contracts
  • Provide expert support and advice to HR and managers relating to mental and physical health
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of wellbeing, policies, procedures, and guidance which includes leading on consultation with unions and employee representatives such as the wellbeing employee forum

What you’ll bring

  • Minimum Level 4 diploma in Counselling/ Psychotherapy or equivalent mental health or nursing qualification
  • Minimum undergraduate degree in Psychology or Occupational Psychology
  • Professional registration or accreditation with BACP/UKCP/HCPC/RCN or equivalent membership body – Desirable
  • Specialist knowledge in a mental health related role such as counselling, psychotherapy, psychology, or mental health nursing.
  • Experience in developing a health and wellbeing strategy against recognised frameworks
  • Experience in identifying, designing, and implementing health and wellbeing initiatives or projects
  • Experience in managing a team including development and pastoral support.
  • Experience delivering wellbeing training to groups and individuals
