Title: Production Operator – Mixing & Compounding

Reports to: Shift Supervisor

Department Core Hours: Operate – 6:00 am – 2:45 pm, 2:00 pm -10:45 pm swing shift

Our high quality PVC compounds are used in a variety of production processes, such as injection moulding, extrusion or blow moulding, and are supplied into a wide range of markets

The Role:

Key Responsibilities:

· To work effectively and promote all Health, Safety and Environmental legislation along with the Company’s compliance guidelines.

· Correctly assemble various raw materials as detailed on a “Mixing Instruction”.

· Correctly set up a “Compounding Machine” following a “Compounding Protocol to produce the correct granulated PVC pellet.

· Correctly weigh out, using a set of scales, the assembled raw materials.

· Introduce the weighed out raw materials into a mixing machine and mix those raw materials into a powder following a “Mixing Protocol”.

· Carry out quality checks to confirm that the raw materials have been mixed correctly.

· Correctly store and identify the mixed powder.

· Clean the mixing machine between different batches to ensure no cross contamination takes place.

· Complete correctly all necessary production paperwork

· Assist in other production duties as necessary.

Desirable

Experience in the plastic industry

Experience of PVC compounding machines

Essential

Experience of shift work

Experience of operating machinery

Experience of working within a team

Understanding of working to quality procedures

Experience of manual handling techniques (however, full training can be provided)

Stable employment history

Basic English and Maths or equivalent qualifications
