HGV 1 Driver (Nights)

Job Description

Drivers Direct Recruitment are looking to recruit for 1 x HGV 1 / class 1 or HGV 2/ Class C driver on behalf of our client to join their team in Wetherby, LS23. This is a temp to perm position with an ASAP start.

Hours of work:

• Nights
• Monday to Friday
• Start times will be around 20.00hr
• Minimum 8hrs per day when temporary.

Salary:

• Temporary £16.65ph plus £2.01ph for holiday pay ( Total inclusive of holiday pay £18.66 )
• On a weekly basis £666.00 plus £80.40 for holiday pay (Total inclusive of holiday is £746.40)

The Role:

• Starting ASAP:
• Full induction and assessment prior to start date
• Ongoing work, potentially leading to a permanent job if successful
• Delivery of alcohol in HGV 1/Class C vehicle with a drivers assistant
• Delivering to businesses
• All handball and heavy lifting

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Carrying out relevant daily vehicle safety checks and reporting as per Operational Procedures.
• Ensure all delivery and collections are carried out in accordance with company procedures.
• To deliver & collect to customers in a safe and professional manner.
• To complete all work related paperwork in full and hand in at the end of the shift.

Essential Skills:

• Must hold a valid HGV 1 / Cat C licence for 1 year plus
• Must hold a valid driver qualification (CPC) card.
• Must hold a valid Digital tacho card.
• Good communication skills.
• Good customer relations.
• Have a safe driving record.
• No more than 6 minor penalty points due to insurance stipulations.
• No DR’s, IN’s or DD’s offence codes due to insurance stipulations.
