Job Description

Driver Hire Uxbridge are currently recruiting for HGV Class 1 Drivers (CAT C+E) for our client based in Southall, a large retail supplier

MONDAY TO FRIDAY 08:00AM STARTS (minimum 8 hour days)

£19.00 to £22.00 per hour PAYE (including holiday pay)
(Depending on experience, overtime, nights, weekends etc)

All-round Duties:

• Collect goods from Southall warehouse and deliver to large retailers
• Load and unload goods safely using a pump tuck – ensure all products are secure throughout transit
• Communicate with customers to confirm delivery details and address any concerns or issues
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, including checking fuel levels, tyre pressure, and fluid levels
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations

Requirements:

• Valid manual UK driving licence (CAT C+E) for at least 2 years with no more than 6 points (no DR DD TT IN or MS90 endorsements)
• Valid CPC and TACHO
• You must be over the age of 25 years – for insurance purposes
• At least 1 year HGV Class 1 driving experience (references required)
• Have more than 90 days appropriate driving experience (Cat C) in the past 12 months
• Physically fit
• Excellent verbal and written English skills to interact with customers and team members
• Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and safety standards

Rates of pay:

• We are paying for minimum 8 hours a day
• Overtime is paid after 9 hours (breaks are not paid)
• PAYE between £19.00 and £22.00 per hour (rates differ for experience, nights, weekends, bank/public holidays and overtime)
