Job Description

Summary:

Dragonfly Foods is looking for a full-time Packer to join our team in Willand on a 3 month temporary contract to navigate through a very busy period for the business. There will be an opportunity to extend the contract past the 3 months should packing volumes remain high.

The Packer will be responsible for packing retail and bulk food products on the end of line in to outer cases and stacking pallets in line with site pallet configurations. The role will include setting up of packing equipment including box tapers, labellers and rotary tables. The Packer will be required to set and record the date codes on the label applicator.

* Packing products in to outer cases

* Setting up Machines.

* inputting date code and label information.

* Recording and completion of Packing paperwork.

* Moving products to dispatch storage.

* Clearing line between products and at end of shift.

* Maintaining a clean work area.

* Order picking/Packing.

* Pallet configuration and wrapping.

The role is Monday to Friday, 09:30am to 17:30pm with increased pay overtime opportunities.

Training to be provided on site for the role with extra training opportunities available – Fork Lift training, first aid, fire warden, Food Safety and HACCP.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary, Fixed term contract

Pay: £12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week

·Previous experience not needed as training is given

·Able to work up-to 12 hours per shift, in Chilled environment

·Available to work weekends

·Able to travel to/from site (postcode ME9 9PR)

are looking for Packing Operative to join our team.

Working Hours: 40h/week, Monday to Friday, 6am (need to be flexible with finish time)


Starting Pay Rate:
£11.44/h and up to £14.26/h depending on experience.


Job Purpose:

Responsible for packing red meat for sale and consumption in accordance with client specifications/orders and Company SOP’s.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ability to identify individual vacuum-packed cuts of meat and placing them in to specified containers/boxes
  • Recognition of different cuts of meat that legally must be weighed and labelled correctly
  • Placing trays/boxes on correct pallets to customer specification
  • Recognising and placing selected cuts of meat into correct customer specified bags at variable line speeds
    • Selection of beef quarters by date and category that are pushed along rails to input scale
  • Straightening pre pack bags that are already on production line
  • Completing assigned tasks in a timely manner to meet daily targets
  • Perform all prestart, hygiene and safety checks as instructed

Requirements


Skills/ Experience

  • Previous experience working in a high-volume meat processing factory highly beneficial
  • Able to work in chilled environment
  • Manual handling ability and awareness
  • Able to communicate well in English in written and oral form with multi-nationals on all levels
