Doveleigh Care Limited are excited to be recruiting for Senior Support Workers on a part time basis to join our successful residential care group in Devon. We are hiring for Arcot House which is located in the lovely town of Sidmouth.

Senior support workers must hold a QCF level 2 health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.

Our aim has always been to make our homes warm, friendly and homely. As well as upkeeping our Outstanding rating by CQC.

Job Description

Do you have experience supporting people who have learning disabilities? Could you mentor a small staff team?

This role is for male applicants only.

If you’re a sports fan you’ll get on really well with Dave*, who has a passion for snooker, football and rugby.

Dave is 52 and lives in his own supported living accommodation in Wigan. He’s an outgoing guy with a great sense of humour, who loves meeting new people and discussing food, TV and sport. He takes great pride in his appearance and what he’s wearing.

As a Senior Support Worker you’ll provide direct support and also develop rotas and work with the Frontline Manager to ensure a high standard of practice in the service. You will supervise the staff team, leading by example and identifying training needs, whether that’s formally or by way of day-to-day coaching and reflection.

You’ll take your turn working shifts on a rota, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins.

At times, Dave may become anxious and require emotional support. We will provide you with full training and with day-to-day help and advice from your frontline manager and team throughout.

About you

You will need to have some experience as a Support Worker or Care Assistant. But as important as experience is, If you have the right attitude, share our values and are willing to learn, you’re likely to be a great fit.

You must be a driver with a manual licence, as you will be driving service vehicles.
