Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mithai Chef to join our team in crafting authentic and high-quality Indian sweets (mithai). The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of traditional Indian desserts, an eye for detail, and the ability to create consistent and flavorful mithai in line with both traditional and innovative recipes. This role is integral to maintaining our reputation for excellence in Indian confectionery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare a wide range of traditional Indian sweets such as gulab jamun, rasgulla, barfi, peda, laddoo, jalebi, halwa varieties, etc…
  • Innovate new recipes and customize mithai offerings for festivals, events, and client preferences.
  • Maintain the highest standards of hygiene and food safety during the preparation, storage, and presentation of all items.
  • Monitor the quality of raw ingredients, ensuring authenticity and consistency in taste.
  • Manage production schedules to meet demand while minimizing waste.
  • Train and mentor junior staff or apprentices on mithai preparation techniques.
  • Collaborate with management to design seasonal and specialty menus.
  • Ensure compliance with local food and safety regulations.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in preparing a variety of Indian sweets and desserts.
  • Expertise in traditional cooking techniques (e.g., slow roasting, sugar crystallization).
  • Strong attention to detail for flavour and presentation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £26,200.00-£30,960.00 per month
