Assisting qualified staff in assessing and treating patients with neurological illness or injury (predominantly stroke) – To carry out treatments following guidance from qualified staff as part of rehabilitation programme. Treatments will span Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech and Language Therapy. Treatments will include providing personal care – To have good observation skills and be able to accurately document and report findings in sessions back to qualified staff, with suggestions of further plans or analysis – To build a remit of skills within band 3 competencies to adjust and progress sessions depending on patient presentation – To assist qualified staff on home visits as required – To comply with governance, health and safety, manual handling and professional standards/conduct – To keep up to date statistics and documentation – To work as a team member, supporting and encouraging others in accordance with the department vision and strategic plan – To contribute to weekend working
