Carcroft School is an inclusive mainstream primary school, committed to improving the life chances of all children within the Carcroft community. We have created two smaller bespoke provisions within our school which cater to the needs of SEND pupils who need a different curriculum and approach to their mainstream peers. Our pupils are truly thriving and we are looking for a Teacher to teach within our EYFS/KS1 Bespoke Hub.

The Teacher will teach a bespoke curriculum and will ensure that all pupils’ academic, social and emotional needs are met through the interactions that they have and the provision that they access. The provision will be tailored to meet the individual needs of the pupils within the group and it will support them to achieve their personalised targets and next steps, as detailed in their SEN/ EHCP plans. Learning will take place in a structured, holistic classroom setting and pupils will benefit from increased staff to student ratios, in comparison to the mainstream offer. The successful candidate will work alongside the school SEND team and professionals from Early Years SEND Team and ASCETS to ensure that pupils are provided with the best opportunities and that they are supported to fully engage in learning and make progress towards their individual targets.

We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Teacher who is committed to supporting and motivating children with additional needs and are seeking to appoint an aspirational professional who has an understanding of SEN and experience in meeting the needs of young people with communication and Interaction/ or ASD as their primary need in addition to meeting the needs of pupils who are developmentally working significantly lower than their peers and therefore require a more sensory approach to their curriculum.

The successful candidate should be passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people and have a strong desire to support pupils to be the best versions of themselves, regardless of the barriers that they have.

The successful candidates should have a teaching qualification, along with a strong interest in professional development and the pedagogy of SEND teaching. They should also have a strong desire to build positive relationships with pupils, understand the needs of individual SEND learners and to provide SEND learners with highly effective, personalised provision that enables them to be successful. The successful candidate should be eager to engage parents in their children’s educational journey and to raise the aspirations of the pupils and their parents. Furthermore, the successful candidate should be versatile, enthusiastic and flexible, with excellent communication and organisational skills and the ability to work independently, creatively and positively, using their own initiative. The successful candidate should have a warm and calm manner and be clear, consistent, firm and fair with their expectations and boundaries.
