The Opportunity:

As a Mechanical Estimator, you will play a crucial role in our continued success. Reporting to the Building Services Director, you will be responsible for accurately estimating small works projects, ensuring competitiveness and profitability. What you’ll do:

• Receive client enquiries and conduct site surveys to understand project requirements.
• Prepare detailed estimations and obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Support client meetings and tender presentations to secure opportunities.
• Gather client feedback on submitted tenders/quotes and provide solutions to overcome concerns.
• Develop and refine the estimation process to improve efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness.
• Evaluate strategic opportunities and report on lead status and quotes.
• Utilise key technical skills to support the wider team when needed.

What you’ll bring:

• Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a similar role.
• Mechanical or Plumbing background.
• Commercial and contractual understanding.
• Full clean driving license.
• Willingness to undergo a DBS full disclosure.
• Experience across sectors such as Healthcare, Education, Hospitality, Commercial Property.
• Fully IT literate with CRM systems understanding.

We are actively looking for a Mechanical Estimator to join our team!

Key Responsibilities

• Sending/receiving enquiries to/from suppliers & specialist sub-contractors
• Preparing take-offs from drawings
• Inputting take offs and quotations on to Estimating software
• Accessing and linking information on 4Projects
• Preparation of tender price
• Attending Mid-tender review meetings with Clients (Ireland & UK)
• Presentation of tender to Estimating/Bid Manager for approval prior to submittal
• Detailed tender submission
• Post tender review meetings with Clients (Ireland & UK)
• Detailed tender handover report to Project Delivery Team

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential:

• 5+ GCSE’s (Grade C & above)

Experience & Knowledge

Essential:

• 3+ years’ estimating experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office especially Microsoft Excel
• Experience using estimating software

Desirable:

• Experience in attending mid/post tender review meetings

Abilities & Skills

Essential:

• Strong attention to detail
• Proven ability to deliver high quality work within strict time frames
• Ability to work on own initiative & as part of a team
• Be able to work under tight deadline & schedules
• Willing to travel to Ireland and the UK for client meetings
