Your Role

Accounts (60%):

  • Prepare accounts, business tax computations, management accounts, and VAT returns.

Audit (40%):

  • Lead audits from planning to completion while supervising and mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce accounts and tax computations for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships.
  • Take ownership of audit assignments, ensuring all deliverables are prepared for manager review.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, addressing queries and building strong relationships.
  • Provide training, guidance, and work reviews for junior team members.
  • Prepare management accounts and VAT returns as needed.

What We’re Looking For

  • ACA or ACCA qualified with 4-5 years’ experience in a practice environment.
  • Proven experience leading audit assignments.
  • Expertise in working with owner-managed businesses and preparing statutory accounts.
  • Proficient in Excel with strong IT skills.
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities.

Role Overview:

  • Prepare accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
  • Assist with audits and prepare corporation tax computations.
  • Produce management accounts and reports for client meetings.
  • Collaborate with the outsourcing team, reviewing VAT returns and record keeping.
  • Work with accounting software, including Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and Caseware.
  • Handle client queries and maintain high accounting standards.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working within an accountancy practice.
  • AAT, ACCA, or ACA qualifications are advantageous but not essential with relevant experience.
  • Audit experience is preferred.
  • A professional attitude with a proactive and solution-focused approach.
