Job Description
This Nottingham-based business has recently posted record-breaking sales and profits, and now they’re searching for a Finance Director to steer them through their next phase of growth.
This is a business that’s fast-paced, full of energy, and bursting with ambition. They’ve got multiple revenue streams (some straightforward, others not so much!), so they need someone who can thrive in a bit of complexity while keeping things running smoothly.
Offering between £90,000 to £120,000 + Bonus + Matched Pension + Family Private Medical +Benefits
Hybrid working: 2 days in the office, 3 at home.
What’s the Role?
As FD, you’ll be the go-to person for all things finance. From shaping the team and driving strategy to getting stuck into the nitty-gritty when needed, you’ll play a vital role in supporting growth and making sure resources are focused where they’ll have the biggest impact.
The team’s great, but there’s work to ensure everyone’s in the right roles and set up for success. You’ll also be a key voice at the table, working closely with the MD, senior leadership, and PE investors to guide the business through its next phase.
Key Bits You’ll Own
- Leading and building a high-performing finance team.
- Driving the financial strategy—budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and compliance.
- Rolling up your sleeves on complex accounting areas and ensuring solid controls.
- Partnering with the MD and senior leadership to steer the business towards its goals.
- Managing relationships with PE investors and external stakeholders to maintain strong partnerships.
- Supporting ongoing modernisation, including IT system upgrades and automation initiatives.
- Identifying opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency, and growth.
With exciting diversification plans—including new products, brands, and an increased focus on online growth—you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of this business.
Your Background…
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
- Experience in PE-backed business ideally in the SME space
- Experience in a Product based business, Wholesale, Distribution or FMCG
- A strategic mindset paired with the ability to roll up your sleeves when needed.
- A proven track record in team leadership and development.
- The ability to manage complexity while keeping things focused and simple where it matters.
